If you’ve been hanging around here for a while, you know my interests are all over the map. History. Human behavior. Oddball characters. Forgotten stories. The moments when ordinary people find themselves standing in the middle of extraordinary events.

Lately, I’ve been thinking about taking a new path.

I’m considering launching a separate storytelling publication on Substack devoted entirely to historical fiction and narrative history. Think of stories like Robert Spencer and Pop Haney, where real people, obscure events, and fascinating moments from history come alive through storytelling.

These wouldn’t be history lessons.

They’d be stories.

Stories about people you may have never heard of, but probably should have. Stories that entertain while teaching us something about ourselves and the world around us.

My current INNER CIRCLE would remain exactly what it is now: shorter essays, observations, life lessons, book updates, and whatever else happens to be rattling around in my head.

This new project would be something different. Longer, richer stories delivered every week or two for readers who enjoy that sort of thing.

And honestly, I’m pretty excited about the possibility.
